* Update for September 2014 – The special offer mentioned below is now $45 for 10 weeks and you still have to ring the Mercury and speak to the circulation section to take up the offer.
Just a very quick post today to pass on some useful information about the Mercury Newspaper.
I don’t know why but the Mercury Newspaper doesn’t have any information on its website about the cost of subscribing, what the terms and conditions are, special offers to new subscribers etc.
In fact the Mercury currently has an offer going for new subscribers of 10 weeks for $35.00 This is less than half price and a truly great offer. It isn’t mentioned on the Mercury website so you’ll need to give them a call and take up the offer that way.
When we took advantage of the offer the sales lady told us that towards the end of the 10 weeks we would receive another special offer in the mail so make sure you don’t extend your subscription until the additional offer also turns up.
We thought this information would help people moving to Tasmania, particularly those moving to Hobart. The Mercury is statewide but is Hobart focused in its coverage.
I will check with the Examiner and Advocate (the newspapers for the North of the State) and see if they have any special offers for new subscribers.
